When I received a commission in the Navy as a young man, I took an oath to protect the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I carry that oath with me in the halls of Congress.
As a member of the Armed Services Committee, I place the interests of our men and women in uniform before anything else. I’m an active advocate for our men and women in uniform around the world, and at Barksdale Air Force Base and Fort Polk/Joint Readiness Training Center. They contribute so much to our community and sacrifice for our national defense.
My legislative record proves it. Just ask the American Security Council Federation, which gives me a perfect 100% on important national security issues.
Liberals want to fix the budget crisis they created on the backs of our men and women in uniform. I won’t let them sacrifice our national security. While we strive for fiscally responsible solutions, I’ll make sure that our brave service men and women get all the support they need to carry out the missions they’ve been given. Their well-being and our security are too important to risk.
As long as I’m in Congress, I’ll fight to ensure we have the strongest and most capable military in the world.
